RUN-OR-WALK TOUR
There’s a tradition for those staying in Bologna to visit the Basilica of San Luca. It’s located on the Colle della Guardia (at 300 meters above sea level) on high ground that served as a place for safeguarding and defense of the city. The Basilica is an old architectural gem, for continuous pilgrimages, and preserves the famous sacred icon of the Black Madonna, which is linked to dozens of historical legends. The extraordinary complex of the portico of San Luca leads the visitor to the Basilica, after climbing the hill which stretches over many flights of steps. The tour represents a show within a show: from your hotel / apartment in the historic center without interruption and always sheltered by the arcades, you will comfortably reach the foot of the climb, crossing the imposing Meloncello Arch.
