Our answers to the most Frequently Asked Questions.
At what time do we have to show at the starting point?
Group tours: runners are kindly requested to show up at the meeting point 10 minutes in advance of the scheduled starting time. You might not be alone and we really would like to start on time with the present runners.
Private tours: please be on time in the hotel lobby or your private apartment as given that the total duration of the tour starts from the agreed meeting time.
What is the running pace referred to?
The running pace indicated in group tours refers to a run on a flat course and is intended as the pace the runner must comfortable be able to keep for the whole distance in order to enjoy the tour. Running cadence must be faster or slower. It will depend of the group composition and on condition of unanimous agreement of all the participants.
Are we running the whole time?
Group runs are planned with designated short stops throughout the route where you can catch you breath, stretching or having some photo-ops as well.
Do I have to carry water with me?
Running water from public fountains has been carefully and daily checked from local municipality agency. This is not only free, but clean and drinkable. Along the courses there are some public fountains provided, therefore you can bring with you a water bottle to refill or simply drinking from the fountains.
Do you have a specific suggestion for running gear?
First of all we would like to invite you to check the local weather forecast. A good internet site for checking current weather conditions is provided by the regional agency for environment (ARPAE): check weather forcast.
Therefore you have to wear in accordance to it. We don’t have any particular critical issue to highlight concerning the pavement through the historical centre, so your impact is similar to road running. Take into consideration that some parts are in cobblestone, therefore if you are not familiar with it simply slow your pace. For comfort and safety reasons is highly recommended to use high cushion running shoes (cat. A3).
Is there a place available for personal items or changing clothes?
A bar is available as a deposit for personal items, but changing clothes would not be comfortable. In any case we would like to suggest to come to the meeting point already run-dressed.
Are there any possibilities that tours could be cancelled for some reason?
In case of unforeseen unavailability of the scheduled guide you will receive a refund few minutes after you receiving the cancellation message. Another possibility might be adverse meteorological events like snow or huge rain. But you are in Bologna and porticoes are a great shelter, so if you are in doubt, expect to run!
In case of last-minute unexpected event do I lose pre-paid running tour?
If you missed your original scheduled tour (due to any reason other than an emergency) and call us prior to your tour to reschedule, we will issue a raincheck for a running tour on another date. You can even forward it to another person.
Is it possible to tip our running guide?
Yes, of course! Tips are not required, but if you receive an excellent guidance they are highly appreciated.
So, do you fancy running in Bologna?
